Edelweiss executives - Attempt to fraud

Im an NRI from Dubai who was looking out to buy a 2BHK apartment in mumbai for investments. We had approached the Vora Centrico, malad sales office enquiring about the project in Oct 15. We were welcomed very warmly by Ms Swati and was introduced to Mr Kamal (from Edelweiss) . He started briefing us all about the apartment in detail. We were told only 2 flats were available and rest all were sold out. He offered special discounts and even got us the calculation about the bank loan by immediately calling the bank executive to the office. After the impressive presentation by Mr.Kamal we thought over it for a day and decided to go ahead with Centrico.

Next day we visited the office with the booking amount cheque hoping to receive a discount and have a final bargain over the price. Since Mr.Kamal was not in the office his colleague briefed us again about the project and came down to a lower price which was surprising. During the conversation we were provided information which was totally different from the details specified on the previous day. These details included the approvals of CC and several other basic information that Mr. Kamal had lied about. While we were having a heated discussion about this discrepancy, Mr. Kamal walked into the office and tried very hard to save the situation with some more lies. He had initially claimed that the CC approval was till floor 21 but when asked for approval documents, he came up with a silly excuse of employee possessing the docs was on leave today. They did not even have a photocopy of the approval documents. Later on they apologised and stated that the CC approval was only till 6 floors. When we questioned him about the wrong information provided His statement was "That was what I thought".

Later, a salesperson from Vora Builders came in and gave us another set of new information which was again different from what was told to us a few minutes before by Edelweiss employees. At this point, my family and I knew that it was a fraudulent attempt to trap us and we escaped narrowly. Also later we found out that Ms. Swati was married to the Bank Executive who came to the office to explain the home loan structure to us. It seems like a racket involving Mr. Kamal, Ms Swati and her husband, ICICI Bank executive. They did not even try to call us after this episode as they knew we found out about their true intentions.

I would like to bring to attention of all prospective home buyers to clearly check the facts the Sales persons propose with valid documents. The unethical sales practises maintained by the agents of Edelweiss Real Estate executives are seriously deceiving and is largely attempted to trap people.
