My father purchased a land in 1978 at Saligramam and constructued a house in the land. The documents and EC were verified before the purchase. The subregistrar office and EC shows no issues in the propertly. However I believe, during the computerisation of data in 1988 there has been a errir and the patta name was entered wrongly. I had been running from pillar to post on this issue over the past 6 months saying the link is not in the actual owners name. The EC does not show any issues. I would appreciate knowing how to go about in correcting the computerization error as I am always given a reply that they can only trace link till 1988 and they cannot see the name for issue of patta.
Thanks for the reply. I am trying to use the EC as the computerized EC is available only from 1987. The land was originally a Agricultural Land which was converted to Residential Land in 1969 with layouts. I have got the hard copy of EC from 1969 ( from the time of conversion to residential land.
Apparantly the mistake had taken place during computerization in 1999 and they had wrongly entered the neighbours name under our land (instead of his) and the system is showing the neighbours name.
The Taluk office says we have to file a writ petition as their office does not have facility to correct the error. I am concerned about the time involved in getting a court ruling and so wanted to find out if any other faster alternative could be tried.
I believe all data from 1987 and before should be available in hard copy. I would suggest you apply for checking hard copies to confirm whether there was an error in computerization.
