TOPIC: Temporary Awning on private terrace

Temporary Awning on private terrace 4 months 3 weeks ago #8767

Hi All
I have purchased flat in a high-rise building having 27 floors.
My flat is in second floor.

One day while standing on terrace a small cement chunk fell just in front of me on the terrace, if it would have fallen on my head it would had hurt badly.
As the building is high rise and we have windows above my terrace in ever floor, the risk of somebody knowingly/accidentally throwing any object is high.
So I want to cover my terrace with MS Pergola using nuts and bolts.
The builder is not allowing me to do so and is threatening to disconnect water/electricity supply if i do so.
I have a small kid of 11 months who will soon start walking and it is too risky if the terrace door is left open.
What can i do?

Thanks,
Tripuresh

Sadly, any change in building plan would lead to problems for the association and the builder in general. It might cause problems with approval etc. Hence, even though I understand your situation, I believe he is right. However, you need to raise this issue and get a common consensus from the association on what steps can be jointly taken by the association in order to protect everyone.
