I have a residential property and let out. Why should BBMP charge double the tax if it is let out. I cannot understand the logic behind this. Please explain?

Hi Kunal,

BBMP needs property tax and they can't demand higher property tax from those who don't earn anything from the property. Hence, they charge owners who rent their property more than they charge those who don't. I know it sounds unfair since income tax is also paid on the rental income but different level of government tax multiple times on same income.

Thanks and regards
